to the previous schedule.
Getting
There
The National Building Museum is easily
accessible by Metro. The Judiciary Square Metro stop is across the street
from the main entrance to the National Building Museum and is served by the
Red Line. Use of Metro is strongly encouraged.
There is limited on-street parking in the vicinity of the National Building
Museum. Available parking will be influenced greatly by other activities
taking place nearby. Parking meters are enforced on Saturdays, so bring lots
of quarters if you plan to use on-street parking. Paid parking is available
in nearby commercial parking lots. Rates are likely to be in the $15 - $20
range. D.C. parking meter rates recently increased to as much as $2.00 an
hour. Think Metro.
Activities
The Expo will be open to the public during
packet pick-up from 9:30 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. on Saturday only. It will feature
booths sponsored by running related companies and organizations, including
apparel manufacturers and retailers; nutritional product suppliers; other
major races; and running clubs.
A series of clinics will be held throughout the day. Clinic
speakers will include running legends Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit Samuelson,
plus local experts on running subjects such as training, sports medicine, and
the make-up of our courses.
Pickup
Locations
Bib and ChronoTrack D-Tag pick-up will take place
in two locations inside the National Building Museum. Your location will depend
on your bib number. There will be lots of signage directing you to the proper
location when you arrive on the site. There will be a single location for
T-shirt (including Upgrades) pick-up in the Great Hall. Volunteers will direct
you to each location.
Picking
Up Someone Else's Packet
Need to pick up someone else's packet for them?
Not a problem. Just bring a note from that runner, their confirmation brochure
and some sort of identification for yourself (such as a driver's license). If
you don't have their confirmation brochure, you will be able to pick up the
packet, but it will be much faster with their brochure. You will absolutely need
the note and your own ID, however.
G-M

A-F 12:30 P.M. to

Sunday
Packet Pickup
If you cannot get to the National Building on Saturday, you may pick up your bib number and chip on Sunday,
April 11, from 6:30 - 7:15 A.M. Ten Mile runners can pick up their bibs at the
large packet pick-up tent in the 10 Mile staging area. 5K Run-Walkers have a
separate packet pick-up tent in the 5K staging area. Be prepared for long lines! We will not delay the main 7:40
A.M. start in order
to accommodate individuals showing up late to pick up their bib numbers. No
changes to registration information and no personal chip registration can be
made on Sunday.
Ten Mile finisher medals may be picked up by
those who pre-ordered them at the 10 Mile packet pick-up tent after the race.
Merchandise
Sales
We will be offering an array of "Official
Credit Union Cherry Blossom" items for sale at the Expo including
apparel, patches and other commemorative items. Pick up a race memento for
yourself or as a gift. In addition items from previous years are available at closeout
prices.
