Volunteer Expectations
Here are a few additional things you should know before you sign up to volunteer:
- Don't volunteer if you aren't sure you will be able to be there. No-shows really cause great difficulties and will be barred from volunteering in future years.
- Confirmed runners, volunteer for Saturday! That way you can run the race on Sunday and still get a guaranteed entry for next year's race!
- Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Parents should not expect that children will be assigned to the same location.
- You must be able to report on time and remain on the job for the duration. Volunteers who leave early without permission will not receive a guaranteed entry form.
- Check the volunteer website frequently. Volunteer jobs will open and close without warning.
- Dress comfortably and in layers. Race morning starts early and can be cold. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk in the grass and dirt.
- Leave all valuables (purses, backpacks etc) at home. We do not have the space or security to watch them during race weekend.
- Plan to take Metro all weekend long.
- Be prepared to HAVE FUN!!
