Virtual
Training for the 10 Mile
|
|
The Credit Union Cherry Blossom is
offering a FREE virtual training program to prepare runners for the
2011 Ten Mile Run.
When you register for the race you will be able to sign up for the program
of your choice.
The Virtual Training Program is designed by Bill Rodgers and Coach Kirt
West. There are three programs:
-
Beginner Program - for the
non-runner and the occasional runner who runs less than twice a week
-
Intermediate Program - for any
runner who has successfully completed a 5K or 10K race in the past
year or any runner who consistently runs 2-3 miles a day three or
four times per week in the past year
-
Advanced Program - for
serious runners who average at least 20-25 miles per week and who do
a weekly long run
You can sign up for
either program (or both programs). Both work the same way: you will receive a daily email
with that day's workout and
offering tips and suggestions as you prepare.
Need help deciding which program fits your fitness level? Visit our
Virtual Training FAQ, or see Beginner Program,
Intermediate Program or Advanced Program.
All of the programs can be strenuous, so all participants should get a
doctor's approval before beginning one of these programs.
All programs begin on February 1, 2011.
Sincerely,
Bill Rodgers

| From a
Satisfied Virtual Trainer: |
"The Bill
Rodgers Virtual Training Program enabled me to exceed my expectations... as well as establish healthy training routines that have continued
to help me improve my times this year. When I showed up at the starting
line at CUCB, I knew that I was in peak condition to run the time that I
had been training for. The program adapted well to my personal schedule
because I could clearly understand what the essential workouts were each
week. I was pleased that the virtual coach was responsive to my emails
about pace and avoiding injury. My satisfaction with the program has
already encouraged my friends to sign up...."
