2021 National Cherry Blossom Festival: March 20 – April 11

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Virtual Run is part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, America’s Greatest Springtime Celebration. Before or after your Virtual Run, join in the other Festival Activities.

March 20: Opening Ceremony: Watch the ceremonial start to the Festival as performers from Japan and DC bring to your living room a celebration of the season with artistry and spectacle. LEARN MORE

March 20 – April 11: Art in Bloom: Hunt for 25 giant cherry blossom sculptures flourishing throughout the DC area. Featuring the artwork of local and national artists, engage with the icons for a chance to win prizes. LEARN MORE

March 27-28: Blossom Kite Fly: Take to the skies from your own backyard and contribute your kite-flying merriment to our online community! LEARN MORE

March 27: Pink Tie Party: Dress up at home in your finest springtime attire and party with your pod and other online revelers from all over the world in an evening of fun, entertainment, and friendly competition. LEARN MORE

April 9: Celebration Show:  Tune in to a special “love letter” to the blossoms and DC in springtime, as the National Cherry Blossom Festival Celebration Show as celebrated entertainers sing and dance the glories of the season in an hour-long production to be enjoyed by the entire family. April 10-11: Petal Porch Parade:  The inaugural Petal Procession will be cruising through DC area neighborhoods viewing homes which have their cherry blossom spirit on full display. LEARN MORE

Dates TBD: Cherry Blossom Viewing: When peak bloom occurs, view the blossoming trees from the birds-eye view of BloomCam or enjoy tours of the Tidal Basin from the comfort and safety of your home as the Festival and its partners provide a variety of ways to see the blossoms. LEARN MORE
