For everyone’s safety, running with a dog or headphones is NOT permitted.
The 5K Run-Walk is designed for individuals who don’t wish to attempt 10 miles, or for walkers and relaxed-pace runners who feel they would take longer than 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete 10 miles. All 5K entrants receive the same amenities as the 10 milers, including the official race t-shirt, their overall times and places in the event, and post-race food and drink. All runners will be scored on net times. Only the first male and first female finisher will receive recognition; there will be no other 5K awards. All 5K runners must finish and be off the course no later than 10:05 A.M.
In-Person Ten Mile Run and 5K Run-Walk. The field will be filled slightly differently this year, as when the race was cancelled in 2020, 12,000 registered runners opted to defer their entry and get a Guaranteed Entry in 2021 rather than taking a refund. These runners will receive a Guaranteed Entry Link that will enable them to register for this year’s race starting on May 26, 2021.

Race Cancellation Due to COVID-19
If COVID-19 forces us to cancel the race after registration has begun, runners accepted into the 2021 race will have several options, including a full refund of the race fee. For the full COVID-19 Cancellation Policy, Click Here.
Strollers are discouraged but not prohibited in the 5K Run-Walk.
Participants with strollers in the 5K Run-Walk must start at the back of the pack of runners lined up for the start of the race.
Switching to the 5K
After the lottery, runners who were accepted into the Ten Mile Run may decide that they would prefer to run the 5K instead, whether because their training didn’t go as planned, they suffered an injury or illness, or a myriad of other reasons. This is perfectly fine, and we will post a Switch Form here starting in July so that you can let us know that you would like to change races. Those who fill out the form before July 31 will be issued a 5K number at packet pickup. If you fill out the Switch Form after July 31, you will still receive a 10 Mile bib number. Just wear that number but report to the 5K starting line and run or walk the 5K. You will be scored as part of the 5K Run-Walk even with your 10 Mile number.

Participant short-sleeved T-shirts (cotton or 50-50) are given to all 10 Mile and 5K entrants. At registration, participants are given the option of purchasing a short-sleeved Performance upgrade shirt from ASICS in place of the non-technical short sleeved shirt. For more on t-shirts, Click Here.
Post-race refreshments following the race will be available in the 5K staging area.
