About the Health and Fitness Expo
Pick up your race packet and t-shirt at the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday, April 1 or Saturday, April 2. The Health and Fitness Expo will also feature free informative clinics with a variety of speakers to help you perform your best on race day, as well as New Balance and other vendors to fill all your running gear needs and a chance to pick up official Credit Union Cherry Blossom apparel and merchandise. There will be special guest speakers in recognition of the 44th running of the race.
Race packet pick-up is only for confirmed entrants, although non-participants are invited to attend the Health and Fitness Expo. There is no late registration.
The National Building Museum is easily accessible by Metro. The Judiciary Square Metro stop is across the street from the main entrance to the National Building Museum and is served by the Red Line. Use of Metro is strongly encouraged.
Bike Valet Service
This year as part of our greening initiative we are providing a free “Bike Valet” service at the Health & Fitness Expo. Simply ride your bike to the expo and leave it with the representatives from Two Wheel Valet. They will guard your bike to ensure that it is safe while you pick-up your bib, shop our vendors and enjoy the festivities. It’s like a coat check for bikes!
There is limited on-street parking in the vicinity of the National Building Museum. Available parking will be influenced greatly by other activities taking place nearby. There may be events taking place at nearby Verizon Center at 7:00 P.M. on both Friday and Saturday nights. Parking meters are enforced on both Friday and Saturday (at rates up to $2.00 an hour), so bring lots of quarters if you plan to use on-street parking. Paid parking is available in nearby commercial parking lots. Rates are likely to be in the $15-$20 range. Be sure to check the hours of the commercial lots. Some of them close early. Think Metro.
The Health & Fitness Expo will be open to the public during packet pick-up from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 1, and from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 2. There will be a Credit Union Cherry Blossom Official Merchandise store featuring special Credit Union Cherry Blossom apparel sold by New Balance, as well as hats, mugs, posters and other commemorative items. The Health & Fitness Expo will also feature booths sponsored by running-related companies and organizations, including apparel manufacturers and retailers; nutritional product suppliers; other major races; running clubs; and various charities. Finally, there will Clinic and Autograph sessions with Olympians Meb Keflzeghi and Joan Benoit Samuelson on at the expo. CLICK HERE for times and locations of these appearances.

Picking Up Someone Else's Packet
You may have someone else pick-up your bib number on Friday or Saturday at the Health and Fitness Expo at the National Building Museum. The person getting your number will need a note from you (a copy of an email is fine), ID for himself or herself, and will be required to provide his or her email address and sign a statement that the number will be used only by you. If the number is transferred, you will be denied entry into future editions of the race. We regret being heavy-handed here, but unauthorized bib transfers represent a real scoring and security issue for us. PLEASE DO NOT send the note authorizing someone to pick up your packet to us at the Credit Union Cherry Blossom. The person picking up your packet should bring the note (a printout of an email is fine) with them to the Expo!
Runners who pre-ordered the New Balance Lightning Dry performance upgrade shirts can pick them up at the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday or Saturday. They will not be available at the race site on Sunday. Upgrade orders (including sizes) are indicated in the email with this confirmation. Remember upgrade shirts replace the standard participant shirt; you will not receive both. If you did not purchase an upgrade in advance, you may purchase one at the CUCB Official Merchandise booth.
There will be a t-shirt exchange located on the first floor of the National Building Museum where participants will have an opportunity to exchange either their cotton participant shirt or their New Balance Lightning Dry Performance upgrade shirt if it is the wrong size based on availability. We do not guarantee that all sizes will be available but last year the t-shirt exchange worked quite well.
On Friday evening there will be a happy hour hosted by the 201 Bar and the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Race Committee, featuring beer and Cabot cheese from 5:00 P.M. until the beer runs out. Tickets good for one beer will be distributed to registered participants 21-years-of-age or older starting at 4:30 P.M. on Friday while supplies last. Additional beer tickets available for purchase.
Donate Your Used Running Shoes
The Credit Union Cherry Blossom is proud to announce that we will be helping the MORE Foundation Group collect donations of your used running shoes at the Health and Fitness Expo again this year. Donating shoes keeps them out of the landfill and the proceeds from the shoes help MORE plant thousands of trees each year, which offsets carbon in the atmosphere. With every pair of gently used athletic shoes, MORE is able to plant one ton of carbon grounding trees and train poor farmers in sustainable agroforestry. Last year we collected nearly 200 pairs of shoes at the expo! To donate your shoes, please bring them to the Sustainability Booth, which will be located near the t-shirt pick-up area. Learn more here: http://www.morefoundationgroup.org/
There will be no packet pick-up and no t-shirt pick-up at the race site on Sunday, April 3.
